The engine behind every price on your dashboard.

RxMargin runs a live pricing and matching system across the whole dispensing market, then turns it into one dashboard and one order optimiser. Nothing here is a snapshot. It is refreshed continuously, all day, every day.

It was built by two practising NHS GPs, one of them a partner at a dispensing practice, and it was written for that practice's own dispensary before anyone else used it. The figures here are the ones we work from ourselves.

RxMargin is a free live market and margin dashboard for NHS dispensing practices in England and Wales. It tracks pricing across five major UK wholesalers (PSUK, AAH, Alliance, Clarity and B&S), matches every pack against its current Drug Tariff reimbursement including live price-concession detection, folds in manufacturer rebate and discount-scheme modelling to work out true net cost, and surfaces brand-route earnings plays alongside an order optimiser that splits an order pad across suppliers for the lowest safe cost. It installs as an app on desktop and phone, with no download and no app store.

A price on its own tells you nothing. RxMargin resolves each pack against the current reimbursement rules, live, so the number on your dashboard is what the line is actually worth this week.

Drug Tariff matching

Every pack is matched to its current Drug Tariff reimbursement, category by category, so wholesaler cost sits next to what the line actually reimburses.

Live concession detection

Monthly price concessions are tracked as they are published and revised, so a line that has moved onto a concession price shows the current figure, not last month's.

Rebate and scheme modelling

Manufacturer rebate and discount schemes are folded into a true net price, so the figure you see is what a pack actually costs after every scheme, not the headline list price.

Brand-route earnings plays

Where dispensing the branded route earns more than the generic route, RxMargin surfaces it as a practice-earnings opportunity, line by line.

The safety rule

The optimiser only ever substitutes the identical pack across suppliers. It never swaps strength, form or pack size to find a cheaper price. Anything it cannot match safely is left for you to place as usual.
